What do they say? You never know until you ask?
There's a lesson there at just about any place of business, including consignment furniture stores!
It happened to the IRC and the Benjamin St. Home Decor store.
Shortly after moving to Boise, I visited this shop and mentioned to the owner, Sue Farley, that our organizaiton worked with refugees and wondered if when something didn't sell at her shop, could those items be donated to the IRC.
Bingo!
Friday was my second trip to Benjamin St. to pick up some lovely things for our families that had been generously donated by Sue's clients.
The moral of this story? Just ask!
Do you have a favorite store? Hairdresser? Barber? Next door neighbor?
You never know who might have something to donate, a service to give, or a job to offer!
