More Adventures for the Ladan Omar Family

Julianne, her daughter Rebecca, and I took the Omar family to Camel's Back Park for volleyball, hiking and playing on the swings/playground. Ladan and all of her children even hiked up the big, steep hill at Camel's back!!! I'm not sure if you've hiked it, but it's no easy feat, especially in flip flops :) When she got to the top she looked out at the foothills and said "like home". It was a really touching moment because you could see she missed home and she didn't even know the foothills were there until we got to the top of the hill. They were all amazed by the view of Boise with all of the trees, etc. Ladan is a child at heart! She had just as much fun running down the hill as her children and enjoyed the playground as well. I wish she would smile in pictures because that is one of the best parts of the visit, to see her smile! I'm guessing it's a cultural thing because everytime a camera is out they get serious faces.
