A Zoo Story........

Below is a great summary from the team of volunteers that are working with our biggest family - NINE members!

Jennifer, her children, Brianna & I took the family to the zoo on Saturday. A great time was had by all!!! The family was getting ready when we arrived which I'm sure was a feat in itself with 7 children!!

We split the family between our three cars which worked well. It seemed like they enjoyed just being out of their house. They really enjoyed the Africa section of the zoo and liked pointing out words in Swahili as well. The little ones seemed to really like checking out all the animals with the penguins being a big hit! The kids thought it was hilarious to watch as the penguins got close to the glass :)

Jennifer brought pb&j sandwiches, cheez-its, and hot coco. Most of the kids tried and liked them with the exception of mom and dad. Mom just shook her head like "there's no way I'm trying that!"

Two other hits, besides the penguins, were the carousel and the giraffe slide! Everyone except mom, dad and the oldest daughter rode the carousel and loved it! Even the 7 year old hung on for dear life and loved every second of it (no worries Joanie, I was hanging on to him :)! When we got to the giraffe slide the kids just ran up the stairs with no fear and the next thing you know they were throwing two of their siblings down the slide! Mom and Dad were laughing watching the kids have a blast. When our convoy returned them home Brianna had bags of popcorn for them which they loved!
Don't you just love these pictures and a wonderful story of fun on a Saturday? Thanks to the team of FIVE working with the family of NINE!
