One of the first things I ask volunteers to do is check out the Boise Public Library with their families. Showing them how to get to the library on the bus is really be a plus!

The majority of our families live near the Hillcrest branch, but that doesn't mean that a trip to the main library shouldn't happen. It would be great to families get a library card at the main library and then have a "field trip" to the Hillcrest branch, on another day. Making the connection between the main library and the branch should come pretty easily.
The library site is great because it gives a monthly calendar of events for the main library and the branches too. I have seen events such as toddler and pre-school story time, teen game hour, computer basics, and several other programs from which our families would benefit.
